Moms...even the word brings up pictures in my mind. Scaring away monsters from under my bed, holding my hand when I went up to the school building for the first time, crying with me over my first break-up, rejoicing with me when I graduated from high school...a thousand images flash through my mind. My mother past away eight years ago and not a day goes by that I don't wish I could've had just one more moment with her...she never got to see my daughter, who carries her middle name and a striking resemblence to the granny she never met. She never met my amazing husband. I can look back through tons of pictures from my childhood and teen years, but as we got older, there were less and less photographs of her and us kids together. As we get older, our lives get busier and we move further and further away from each other and it's just so hard to get together. You don't realize how much you miss until she is gone and all opportunity to see her and make memories with her is gone. I guess my point is don't wait. Children...go to your mother this Mother's Day. Even if its just for a bit. Take the time to be with her. Take pictures. Make Memories.
And on that note...Mothers....your children will not care that you found a new wrinkle or grey hair or pound or two...take pictures with your children....they will treasure them always...
